The Boost4U G1000 (model MBG1000gb) is the G-series top dedicated commercial voice-call and SMS mobile signal booster, engineered to deliver Band 8 (900 MHz 2G/3G) voice amplification at up to 80 dB maximum gain — the highest in the entire G range — with a ≤3 dB noise figure and 23 dBm output, covering up to 1000 m² (10,764 ft²) — a seven-plus-bedroom detached house, large bar, restaurant, hotel, village pub with function room, or small multi-floor office. It pairs a 10 dBi directional panel outdoor antenna (upgradable to a 12 dBi Yagi, mounted facing the strongest O2/Vodafone signal) with a directional panel indoor antenna (aimed at the main covered zone; expandable to a second indoor panel via a separately purchased splitter for deep basements or five-plus-storey buildings), ships with a long 20 m coax cable, runs on a 240V UK mains adapter at ≤20 W (about £47 a year, around £4 a month), and supports O2, Vodafone, giffgaff, Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Lebara and Lycamobile. It is a calls-and-SMS-only unit — it does not boost 4G LTE or 5G data, and it does not work on EE or Three, which use different voice frequencies. Ofcom licence-exempt, UKCA and CE certified with AGC, it is priced at £505.91 GBP — the commercial flagship of the G voice range — and is covered by a 365-day money-back guarantee with free UK delivery in 10–15 working days.

Pros & Cons — Honest Commercial Review
Pros
- 80 dB maximum gain — the highest in the entire G-series — pulls weak Band 8 donor signal in deep rural fringe and re-broadcasts it strongly across a 1000 m² commercial or large residential property.
- 1000 m² (10,764 ft²) coverage fits a seven-plus-bedroom detached house, a large bar or restaurant, a small hotel, a village pub with function room, or a small multi-floor office — not just a single floor.
- 10 dBi directional panel outdoor antenna — upgradeable to a 12 dBi Yagi for very weak rural donor points — concentrates maximum captured signal from the nearest O2 / Vodafone mast.
- ≤3 dB noise figure is the cleanest in the entire G range — voice calls stay crisp with no hissing or background noise even on a marginal donor signal, critical for commercial client calls.
- 23 dBm output pushes signal where smaller G models cannot: deep basements, converted cellars, loft rooms and four-to-five-storey buildings all receive 2–3 bars.
- 20 m standard coax gives genuine routing freedom — roof or chimney donor antenna, indoor panel on a central corridor, upstairs landing, or basement stairwell across multiple floors.
- Band 8 (900 MHz) is the UK's longest-range 2G/3G voice band — best at penetrating brick, cavity walls, concrete floors and steel-framed commercial buildings.
- Unlimited simultaneous users — every O2 / Vodafone / giffgaff / Sky phone in the covered home, pub, hotel or office benefits at the same time, including card-terminal SMS and staff mobiles.
- Expandable indoor coverage — a second indoor panel can be added via a splitter (sold separately) for deep basements or five-plus-storey buildings that need signal on both ground and lower ground floors.
- Ofcom licence-exempt, UKCA / CE certified with AGC — fully legal in the UK, backed by a 365-day money-back guarantee, lifetime support and free UK delivery.
Cons
- £505.91 is a premium price — the most expensive voice-only unit in the Boost4U range; budget or smaller-property buyers should look at the smaller G-series voice models.
- Voice calls and SMS only — it does NOT boost 4G LTE or 5G data. If you need faster mobile internet for booking tablets, CCTV or streaming, look at the C-series 4G data boosters.
- Single band — Band 8 (900 MHz) only. It will not boost Band 20 (800 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz) or Band 1 (2100 MHz).
- Does NOT work on EE or Three — those networks use different voice frequencies; you must be on O2, Vodafone or one of their MVNOs.
- Rated 1000 m², but that target requires correct installation, adequate outdoor Band 8 signal, proper antenna aiming and suitable building materials — in weak rural fringe-signal areas practical coverage can drop.
- DIY install takes 60–90 minutes and needs a drill, screwdriver, wrench and a ladder — it is not a quick plug-and-play; budget time for aiming both panel antennas and routing the 20 m coax.
- The directional panel antennas need careful angle tuning — both the outdoor panel (aimed at the mast) and the indoor panel (aimed at the covered zone) must be aligned precisely for full 80 dB effective gain.
- The outdoor 10 dBi panel antenna needs a wall / chimney / gable / fascia fix and, on leasehold, rented, listed or commercial properties, may require freeholder, landlord, planning or building-management permission before drilling.
- Not rated above 1000 m² — a manor house, a large multi-building hotel, a warehouse or an estate will outgrow it; step up to the C-series commercial range for larger premises.
- Running cost is about £47 a year (around £4 a month) on 240V mains — higher than the smaller G units, though still modest against the 1000 m² coverage it delivers.
- A second indoor panel for deep basements or five-plus-storey buildings is not included — the splitter kit and second panel must be purchased separately.
3-Step DIY Installation (60–90 Minutes)
Fix the Outdoor Panel
Bracket-mount the 10 dBi directional outdoor panel on the wall, chimney, gable or fascia, aimed squarely at the nearest O2 / Vodafone mast using the included screws, wall plugs and wrench. Run the 20 m coax through the wall or window frame. A ladder is required for the roof-line fix.
Fix the Indoor Panel
Mount the directional indoor panel on a central corridor, landing or main-room wall, aimed at the area you most need to cover — lounge, bar floor, hotel reception, office desk bank or the basement staircase. Keep the two panels separated by a solid wall to avoid self-oscillation.
Plug In and Call
Plug the 240V UK mains adapter into a standard wall socket. AGC locks on within 60 seconds. Make test calls from every bedroom, the bar floor, the basement and the top floor — drill, screwdriver, wrench and ladder are the only tools you need.
Built for 7+ Bed Homes & Large Commercial Venues
7+ Bed Detached
Three floors, kitchen-diner, home office, annexe and all bedrooms hold O2 / Vodafone calls across the full 1000 m².
Deep Basement & Attic
Converted basement bar, cellar stock room and loft extension that used to kill every call now get 2–3 bars.
Large Bar / Hotel / Restaurant
Bar floor, function room, restaurant tables, reception and cellar hold customer and staff calls; card-terminal SMS goes through reliably.
Multi-Floor Office
Three-to-five-storey high street office or professional suite — client calls and supplier SMS hold across every room.
Frequently Asked Questions — Real UK Commercial & Large-Venue Problems
Is the G1000 worth the step-up from the G500 for my seven-plus-bed house or large pub?
Yes if your dropped calls spread across more than six rooms, four or five floors, a deep basement, a function room or an annexe. The G1000 lifts coverage to 1000 m² versus 500 m², raises maximum gain to 80 dB (from 75 dB), improves the noise figure to ≤3 dB (from ≤4 dB), pushes output to 23 dBm (from 20 dBm), upgrades the outdoor antenna to a 10 dBi directional panel (upgradable to 12 dBi Yagi), and extends the coax to 20 m. If you live in a five-six-bed detached home, the G500 is enough. If your property has seven or more bedrooms, a deep basement, a loft room, or you run a large bar, hotel, restaurant or multi-floor office, the G1000 at £505.91 is the right size.
Will 1000 m² really cover my whole pub with a function room and basement?
In most UK large pubs, restaurants and small hotels (around 300–400 m² built footprint across two or three floors) the answer is yes, especially if the indoor panel sits on a central corridor and the outdoor panel points at the nearest O2 / Vodafone mast. 1000 m² / 10,764 ft² is the rated maximum. The 80 dB gain plus the 10 dBi outdoor panel are specifically tuned to deliver 2–3 bars into basements, cellars and upper floors. In weak rural fringe-signal areas coverage can drop — check Band 8 field mode on your phone before ordering. It will not cover a multi-building hotel estate or a warehouse; for that you need the C-series commercial range.
Why does the G1000 use a 10 dBi outdoor panel instead of the smaller 8 dBi panel?
Because 1000 m² commercial spaces need the maximum possible captured donor signal from outside. The 10 dBi outdoor panel has a narrower beam and higher gain than an 8 dBi unit, so it pulls in weaker distant O2 / Vodafone mast signals and rejects noise from other directions. For very deep rural locations where the donor signal is barely one bar, the G1000 outdoor panel can be upgraded to a 12 dBi Yagi for even more capture. The trade-off is that the outdoor panel must be aimed precisely at the mast — a few degrees off and you lose gain.
My hotel has four floors and a deep basement — can the G1000 cover all of it?
For a typical three-to-four-storey townhouse hotel or small inn, yes — the 80 dB gain, 23 dBm output and 20 m coax are tuned to push Band 8 voice signal across four floors and into a standard basement. Mount the outdoor panel on the roof or top-floor fascia facing the nearest O2 / Vodafone mast, run the 20 m coax down through the stairwell, and aim the indoor panel from the central landing towards the reception and bar. If your basement is very deep (two levels below ground) or your building is five storeys or more, you may need to add a second indoor panel via the optional splitter kit — this is the G1000's expandable design for exactly that scenario.
The G1000 costs £505.91 — is that overkill for a five-six-bed detached house?
It depends on your layout, your outdoor signal and whether you run a business from the property. If your five-six-bed house is open-plan, on two floors, and you already get two bars of O2 / Vodafone calls in most rooms, the smaller G500 is likely enough. The G1000 becomes the right choice when: (1) you have seven or more bedrooms, a deep basement, an annexe or a multi-storey extension that keeps dropping calls; (2) you are deep rural with only 1 bar of outdoor Band 8; (3) you run a large bar, restaurant, hotel, clinic or four-five-floor office; or (4) you need the cleanest possible voice quality at ≤3 dB noise figure for client or medical calls. The 365-day refund lets you trial it in situ.
Do I need planning permission or building-management consent for the outdoor panel on a commercial premises?
For domestic properties in England and Wales, a single wall-mounted outdoor antenna under certain size limits usually falls under permitted development. However, the G1000 is a 10 dBi panel on a bracket and the install involves drilling through an exterior wall. For commercial premises — pubs, hotels, restaurants, offices — you should always: (1) ask the freeholder, landlord or management company if you lease the building; (2) check planning rules if the building is listed or in a conservation area; (3) confirm with your local council if the premises is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Many councils treat a single wall-mounted panel as permitted development, but we recommend a quick phone call to your local planning office before you drill on any commercial building.
My outdoor 900 MHz signal is only 1 bar — will 80 dB gain really cover 1000 m²?
The G1000 is tuned for exactly this marginal-but-present donor level: 80 dB gain plus the 10 dBi outdoor panel take a weak 1 bar and re-broadcast it as a strong indoor signal across up to 1000 m². In practice, expect the rooms nearest the indoor panel to hold four bars, the furthest bedroom, basement or top floor to hold two to three bars, and the edges of the premises to hold one to two bars. If you stand outside and your phone shows zero bars and runs emergency-only, no Ofcom-legal booster can manufacture signal from nothing. Check Band 8 field mode on your phone before ordering — and consider the optional 12 dBi Yagi upgrade if the donor point is very weak.
How is the G1000 different from the C1000 4G data booster?
The G1000 is voice-and-SMS-only on Band 8 (900 MHz) at £505.91, while the C1000 is a multi-band 4G LTE data booster on Band 20 (800 MHz) — they are completely different product lines. If your only pain is missed calls and failing texts on O2 / Vodafone / giffgaff / Sky Mobile across a large home or commercial venue, the G1000 gives you the most powerful voice coverage Boost4U makes. If you also need to stream, video-call over mobile data, run booking tablets on 4G or connect CCTV over cellular, the C1000 4G data unit is the better choice. The G1000 will not speed up your mobile internet — it is purely for calls and SMS.
How long does installation really take for a commercial premises — and do I need an engineer?
Budget 60–90 minutes for a competent DIYer on a typical residential or small commercial install, and expect to work from a ladder for the outdoor panel. You will need a cordless drill for the two wall brackets, a screwdriver, a wrench for the coax connectors and a ladder to reach the gable, chimney or fascia line. The G1000 is designed for self-install: mount the outdoor panel facing the mast, run the 20 m coax through a drilled wall, mount the indoor panel on a central wall aimed at the covered zone, and plug in the 240V mains adapter. AGC locks on within about 60 seconds. No engineer visit, no call-out fee, no Ofcom licence — but if you are not comfortable on a ladder, drilling an exterior wall on a commercial building, or running 20 m of coax through multiple floors, ask a local handyman or low-voltage engineer for a half-day of their time.
How much does the G1000 cost to run — is £47 a year normal for a commercial voice booster?
The G1000 draws up to 20 W from the 240V UK mains adapter — about the same as four LED downlights left on 24/7. At typical UK commercial electricity rates that works out at roughly £47 per year of continuous running, around £4 a month. It is higher than the smaller G voice units simply because the G1000 delivers more power, more gain and a 10 dBi panel across 1000 m². There is no subscription, no SIM contract, no monthly fee — once bought, the unit just sits on the wall and amplifies the O2 / Vodafone Band 8 signal you already pay for through your existing phone bill. The 365-day money-back guarantee means you can trial it for a full year before committing.

Expandable coverage by adding indoor antenna if the outside signal is strong.

How It Works

1
The powerful antenna reaches out to access a voice and 3G, 4G, and LTE data signal, and delivers it to the booster
2
The booster receives the signal, amplifies it, and serves as a relay between your phone and the nearest cell tower.
3
Your devices get increased cell reception, and calls and data are fed through the booster back to the network.
Get stronger signal
Normal Cell Coverage
Dropped calls and slow data are generally caused by three things: distance from a cell tower, building materials in your home or office, or obstruction from tall objects such as trees, topography, and buildings.
Signal Coverage with our booster
Signal boosters increase cell signal by collecting signals with a powerful antenna, delivering those signals to the booster, amplifying the cell signals so your devices receive them, and delivering your device's boosted signals back to the cell tower.Installation
- Connect the indoor antenna to the MS port.
- Connect the outdoor antenna to the BS Port.
- Install the outdoor antenna and keep a minimum vertical distance of 10 meters from the indoor antenna.
- Point the outdoor antenna to the direction where you know there is possibly a higher signal strength from the base station.
- Power on the booster and check the signal strength.
- Adjust the outdoor antenna until you get the best signal strength.
