Boost4U L500 Flagship Band 7 2600 MHz 4G LTE Signal Booster
The flagship Boost4U booster for Band 7 (2600 MHz) 4G LTE on EE and Vodafone — uplink ≥60 dB / downlink ≥65 dB gain, ≥20 dBm output (the L Series ceiling, higher than L250's ≥17 dBm and L200's ≥10 dBm), ≤4 dB noise figure, up to 500 m² (5,382 sq ft), up to 50 simultaneous users, VoLTE HD calls, 7 dBi outdoor omni antenna on 10 m low-loss 5D-FB coax + 7 dBi indoor panel antenna on 5 m coax. Turns weak 1–5 Mbps 4G into 15–50+ Mbps.
The Boost4U L500 (model MBL500gb) is the flagship Band 7 (2600 MHz) FDD LTE 4G signal booster built for large UK homes, detached houses, small offices, warehouses, garages, metal buildings and retail shops that already receive EE or Vodafone 4G outdoors but lose it across a 500 m² footprint, through steel portal frames, foil-backed plasterboard and thick external walls. It delivers uplink ≥60 dB and downlink ≥65 dB maximum gain at ≥20 dBm output power — the highest output in the L Series, above the L250's ≥17 dBm and the L200's ≥10 dBm — with a ≤4 dB noise figure and 50 Ω impedance, supporting up to 50 simultaneous users / devices across up to 500 m² (5,382 sq ft) for both 4G mobile data and VoLTE HD voice calls. It pairs a 7 dBi outdoor omni antenna (N-type connector) on a 10 m outdoor low-loss 5D-FB coaxial cable with a 7 dBi indoor panel antenna (N-type) on a 5 m indoor coax, runs from an AC 100–240 V UK 3-pin mains adapter (DC 5 V out, ≤12 W), measures just 180 × 120 × 28 mm, includes AGC automatic gain control and LED status indication, and installs in 20–25 minutes with no engineer. Ofcom licence-exempt, UKCA and CE certified, it requires at least 1–2 bars of outdoor Band 7 4G at the omni antenna point and is priced at £335.00 GBP with a 365-day money-back guarantee and free UK delivery in 10–15 working days. It boosts Band 7 4G LTE data + VoLTE only — it does NOT boost 2G/3G voice on 900 MHz and does NOT boost 5G NR; for rural low-band 800 MHz 4G choose the C500 at the same £335.00.
L500 vs L250 vs C500 — Same £335 Flagship? No: Different Bands, Different Power, Different Footprint
Boost4U runs several 4G boosters on completely different frequencies and power levels. The L500 and C500 share the same £335.00 price but amplify completely different radio bands — picking the wrong band is the single most common reason a booster disappoints.

UK Carrier & MVNO Compatibility (Band 7 2600 MHz 4G LTE + VoLTE)
The L500 boosts the physical Band 7 (2600 MHz) 4G LTE radio signal on EE and Vodafone infrastructure. It works on every carrier that runs Band 7 4G — insert your existing SIM, no new contract. It does NOT help O2 or Three customers, because those networks do not use Band 7 2600 MHz (they rely mainly on Band 3 / Band 20 / Band 1). Remember: calls require a VoLTE-capable phone and a VoLTE-enabled plan, because the L500 does not boost legacy 2G/3G voice on 900 MHz.

Pros & Cons — Honest Review
Pros
- The flagship Boost4U Band 7 unit — ≥20 dBm output is the highest in the L Series, pushing further across a 500 m² footprint than the L250's ≥17 dBm or L200's ≥10 dBm.
- Up to 500 m² (5,382 sq ft) coverage — handles a large detached house, a small office, a warehouse or a retail unit in one go.
- Up to 50 simultaneous users / devices — the L Series maximum, covering staff phones, customer phones, EFTPOS and tablets at once in a small business.
- Matched 7 dBi outdoor omni + 7 dBi indoor panel antennas (N-type) — higher antenna gain than the standard L250 antennas, so the ≥20 dBm output is actually delivered across the whole floorplate.
- Turns a weak 1–5 Mbps indoor 4G signal into 15–50+ Mbps, enough for video calls, streaming, EFTPOS, booking systems and CCTV upload.
- Supports VoLTE HD voice calls over 4G — no dropped calls in large rear extensions, warehouse offices or retail stock rooms.
- Strong ≥65 dB downlink / ≥60 dB uplink gain with AGC automatic gain control, LED status indication and a sensitive ≤4 dB noise figure receiver.
- Works across EE and Vodafone plus BT, ASDA, Virgin, Orange, T-Mobile, Plusnet and TPO — insert your existing SIM, no new contract.
- Low-loss 10 m 5D-FB outdoor coax keeps signal clean on the run from roof to booster; optional 20/30/40/50 m cable and 18 kA surge protector for long or exposed installs.
- Ofcom licence-exempt, UKCA / CE certified, ≤12 W power draw (around £12–18 a year), compact 180 × 120 × 28 mm unit, 20–25-minute DIY install.
- 365-day money-back guarantee, lifetime technical support and free UK delivery make £335.00 a low-risk trial for a £335 flagship purchase.
Cons
- At £335.00 it is the most expensive Boost4U Band 7 booster — £55 more than the L250 and £85 more than the L200.
- Single band only — it boosts Band 7 (2600 MHz) and nothing else; it will not touch Band 3, Band 20, Band 1 or Band 8.
- Does NOT support O2 or Three on Band 7 — those networks do not use 2600 MHz; O2/Three customers need a different band (e.g. C500 Band 20).
- Does NOT boost 2G/3G voice on 900 MHz and does NOT boost 5G NR — it is a Band 7 4G LTE data + VoLTE unit only.
- Requires a VoLTE-capable phone and a VoLTE-enabled plan to make or receive calls — if your handset or SIM falls back to 2G/3G voice, calls will not pass through the L500.
- Coverage tops out at 500 m² — it will not serve a two-storey detached house plus annex, a multi-floor office block or a large retail chain store.
- 2600 MHz is a high frequency that penetrates steel portal frames, foil-backed plasterboard and thick concrete less well than low 800 MHz bands — the outdoor omni must grab a clean donor signal outside the building.
- Needs at least 1–2 bars of outdoor Band 7 4G at the antenna point — it amplifies what is there, it cannot create signal from zero bars.
- Standard UK delivery is 10–15 working days (1–2 day handling), not next-day — order well before a deadline or a warehouse launch.
- 50-user cap — fine for a small office or a busy retail shop, but too small for a dense open-plan co-working hub or a warehouse with 60+ staff.
- The indoor antenna is a single directional wall panel, not an omnidirectional ceiling radiator — side rooms and mezzanine corners may be weaker.
- Standard cables are fixed at 10 m outdoor 5D-FB + 5 m indoor; extending beyond 10 m requires the optional 20/30/40/50 m upgrade (longer coax adds loss).
20–25-Minute Plug-and-Play Installation
Mount the 7 dBi Outdoor Omni Antenna
Fix the 7 dBi omni antenna on the roof or external wall facing the nearest EE / Vodafone mast where you have 1–2 bars of Band 7 4G. Run the 10 m 5D-FB low-loss N-type coax inside through a window, soffit or brick vent. Add the 18 kA surge protector on exposed roof mounts.
Fix the 7 dBi Indoor Panel Antenna
Mount the 7 dBi panel antenna on a central interior wall covering the middle of your 500 m² space — away from the outdoor antenna to avoid self-feedback. Connect the 5 m indoor coax to the L500 unit. For long roof-to-booster runs, fit the optional 20/30/40/50 m low-loss outdoor cable.
Plug in and Lock On
Connect the AC 100–240 V UK 3-pin mains adapter (DC 5 V, ≤12 W) to the booster and switch on. The LED status light settles and AGC locks on within a minute. Check your phone jumps from 1–2 bars to full bars on Band 7. No drill hire, no engineer.
Built for Large EE / Vodafone Premises Up to 500 m²
Large Detached House
4–5 bedroom homes where the rear annex, home office and upstairs bedrooms lose 4G between adjoining brick and foil insulation.
Small Office
Up to 50 staff on EE/Vodafone holding VoLTE calls and video meetings across a 500 m² open-plan floor without the cell dropping.
Warehouse / Garage
Steel portal-frame units where the office corner, mezzanine and stock room all need reliable 4G for scanners and CCTV.
Retail Shop
Boutiques, salons and garden centres where card machines, booking tablets, staff phones and customer phones need data all day.
Frequently Asked Questions — Real UK EE / Vodafone Band 7 4G Problems at 500 m²
What is the difference between the L500 and the L250? Should I step up to £335.00?
Both are Band 7 (2600 MHz) EE/Vodafone 4G LTE + VoLTE boosters with the same ≥60 dB uplink / ≥65 dB downlink gain. The L500 is the flagship: it delivers ≥20 dBm output (vs the L250's ≥17 dBm), covers up to 500 m² (vs 250 m²), supports up to 50 simultaneous users (vs 25), and pairs 7 dBi outdoor omni + 7 dBi indoor panel antennas with a 10 m low-loss 5D-FB outdoor coax. If you have a large detached house, a small office, a warehouse or a retail shop where the whole 500 m² floorplate needs coverage and 30–50 phones connect at once, the L500 is the right call. If you have a medium 2–3 bedroom house or a cafe under 250 m², the L250 at £279.99 is enough.
L500 and C500 are both £335.00 — which one do I actually need?
The price is the same on purpose, but the radios are completely different. The L500 boosts high-frequency Band 7 (2600 MHz) — the dense-town 4G capacity band EE and Vodafone use in built-up areas. The C500 boosts low 800 MHz Band 20 for rural O2/Vodafone reach, with a 75 dB low-band gain tuned for longer distances. Check your phone's field-test mode: if your outdoor 4G sits on Band 7 (2600 MHz) and you are on EE or Vodafone in a town, buy the L500. If your outdoor 4G sits on Band 20 (800 MHz) and you are on O2 or Vodafone in a rural village, buy the C500. Picking the wrong one wastes £335.
I have a steel portal-frame warehouse — will 2600 MHz even work through the building?
The outdoor 7 dBi omni antenna sits on your roof or external wall, where it grabs the outdoor Band 7 signal directly — the booster does not rely on the signal passing through the steel. It then rebroadcasts a clean, amplified 4G signal inside via the 7 dBi panel antenna. So even 2600 MHz's weaker metal-frame penetration does not matter much: you are pulling the signal in from outside the building and feeding it in. You still need 1–2 bars of outdoor Band 7 at the antenna point. For a very long shed, the optional 20/30/40/50 m low-loss 5D-FB cable lets you position the panel centrally without signal loss.
Does the L500 boost my 3G calls, or do I need a VoLTE phone and plan?
The L500 boosts Band 7 (2600 MHz) 4G LTE data and VoLTE HD voice calls only. It does NOT boost legacy 2G GSM or 3G UMTS voice on 900 MHz. To make and receive calls through the boosted signal, your phone must be VoLTE-capable (almost all smartphones sold in the UK since 2018) and your EE or Vodafone plan must have VoLTE switched on. On EE and Vodafone, VoLTE is enabled by default on most consumer and business plans — check your phone's network settings for a "4G calls" / "VoLTE" toggle. Without VoLTE, the L500 improves 4G data but will not pass through older 2G/3G calls.
Does the L500 boost 5G, or just 4G LTE?
The L500 boosts Band 7 (2600 MHz) 4G LTE only — 4G mobile data plus VoLTE HD voice calls. It does NOT boost 5G NR and it does NOT boost 3G/2G voice. There is no Boost4U Band 7 5G booster in this range yet. If your phone shows 5G indoors but struggles to hold it, the L500 will strengthen the underlying 4G LTE fallback that many 5G calls and data sessions actually fall back on, but it will not amplify a 5G radio carrier directly.
I run a 500 m² retail shop / small office — how many phones and EFTPOS can connect at once?
The L500 is rated for up to 50 simultaneous users / devices — the maximum in the L Series. That comfortably covers a 15–25 staff small office plus customer phones, a busy 500 m² retail shop with 6–8 staff and a queue of customers, or a large household with multiple family members and home workers. It is not a router — each device still uses its own SIM and data plan — but every device in the 500 m² coverage area benefits from the cleaner signal at once. Beyond 50 active devices you would need a larger enterprise unit.
My outdoor antenna needs to be more than 10 m from the booster — can I extend the cable?
Yes. The standard kit includes a 10 m outdoor low-loss 5D-FB coax (N-type both ends) and a 5 m indoor coax. If your roof-mounted omni is further from the booster than 10 m — for example in a large warehouse or a detached house with a loft booster location — you can order the optional outdoor cable upgrade in 20 m, 30 m, 40 m or 50 m lengths. Because 5D-FB is a low-loss cable, longer runs remain clean; we also stock an 18 kA lightning / surge protector for exposed roof mounts. Do not use cheap satellite coax — it adds too much loss and will eat into the ≥20 dBm output.
I'm on O2 or Three — will the L500 help me?
No. O2 and Three do not use Band 7 (2600 MHz) for 4G — they rely mainly on Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 20 (800 MHz) and Band 1 (2100 MHz). The L500 only amplifies the 2600 MHz carrier, so an O2 or Three SIM will not see any improvement from it. If you are on O2 or Vodafone rural Band 20, look at the C500 (same £335.00 price, 500 m², Band 20 800 MHz, 75 dB low-band gain). Check your network's band in field-test mode before you buy.
What real-world speeds should I actually expect across a 500 m² detached house after install?
Typical results move a weak indoor 1–5 Mbps connection up to 15–50+ Mbps, measured on a speed test next to the indoor 7 dBi panel antenna. The real figure depends on two things outside the booster's control: how strong the outdoor Band 7 donor signal is (1–2 bars gives a lower ceiling than 4–5 bars) and how congested the nearest EE / Vodafone cell is at peak evening time. The ≥20 dBm flagship output and 7 dBi antenna gains push the signal further across a 500 m² floorplate than the L250's ≥17 dBm, but they cannot add extra mast capacity.
Do I need an engineer, and do I need a lightning / surge protector?
You can install the L500 yourself in 20–25 minutes — no engineer required. Mount the 7 dBi omni on the roof or external wall, run the 10 m 5D-FB coax in, fix the 7 dBi panel on a central internal wall, connect the 5 m indoor coax to the L500 unit, and plug in the AC 100–240 V UK 3-pin mains adapter. AGC locks on automatically within a minute. The unit is compact at 180 × 120 × 28 mm and shows an LED status light. If the omni antenna is mounted on an exposed roof or a tall warehouse gable, we strongly recommend the optional 18 kA lightning / surge protector — it protects the booster and your broadband from induced spikes in a thunderstorm.

How It Works

1
The powerful antenna reaches out to access a voice and 3G, 4G, and LTE data signal, and delivers it to the booster
2
The booster receives the signal, amplifies it, and serves as a relay between your phone and the nearest cell tower.
3
Your devices get increased cell reception, and calls and data are fed through the booster back to the network.
Get stronger signal
Normal Cell Coverage
Dropped calls and slow data are generally caused by three things: distance from a cell tower, building materials in your home or office, or obstruction from tall objects such as trees, topography, and buildings.
Signal Coverage with our booster
Signal boosters increase cell signal by collecting signals with a powerful antenna, delivering those signals to the booster, amplifying the cell signals so your devices receive them, and delivering your device's boosted signals back to the cell tower.Installation
- Connect the indoor antenna to the MS port.
- Connect the outdoor antenna to the BS Port.
- Install the outdoor antenna and keep a minimum vertical distance of 10 meters from the indoor antenna.
- Point the outdoor antenna to the direction where you know there is possibly a higher signal strength from the base station.
- Power on the booster and check the signal strength.
- Adjust the outdoor antenna until you get the best signal strength.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
DO NOT POWER ON THE DEVICE UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS SETUP.
